You’ll notice that I’m not one for froufrou dressing or anything you can imagine relating to sugar-and-spice as the rhyme goes.
Clean lines, minimalist mannish attire, and a monochromatic palette are what covets my closet. So when I was approached by convertible dress brand Henkaa my initial response was “Sorry, but the tomboy in me rarely wears frocks!”. But then I remembered that it’s the woman that makes the clothes and not the other way around and personal style is how we wear garb to match our overall fashion sense. So I said yes to the Henkaa dress and these are the looks I came up with!

#1 EASY LIKE SUNDAY MORNING
With laid-back boyfriend jeans & downtown-chic sleeveless blazer.
Since the silky and flowy fabric of this Henkaa midi convertible style already exudes top fanciness, for casual days, it’s best to accessorize it with paired back pieces such as slouchy jeans and a cool cover-up for relax proportions and style.
How to achieve this halter backless look
#1 Start by wrapping the straps around the back of the neck.
#2 Bring them towards the front and crisscross the straps on your chest.
#3 Wrap the straps around your waistline twice and make a bow.

#1 MIXOLOGY TIME
With mesh detailing and chelsey boots.
Worn as a midi skirt, play up the length by wearing a long-sleeve top but keep it after-work apppropriate with a mesh piece.
Achieve the look by simply wrapping the style around your waist three times  and make a bow.

#1 OFF TO THE OPERA
With streamline trousers and metallic finishes.
Dress to impress when the occasion calls for drama and take the style to new heights by making it a two-in-one.
How to achieve this halter backless and turban look.
#1 Start by placing the straps on your chest and crisscross them at the back of your neck (do not crisscross them towards the front, you’ll end up suffocating yourself!)
#2 With the crisscross straps, bring them on your head and crisscross once towards the front.
#3 Wrap the straps around the back of your head and bring towards the front and crisscross again.
#4 Tuck the loose straps towards the back to cover the crown of your head.

And Voilà!

BONUS TIPS
If you’re going to style it as a skirt, ensure to tuck in a longer top first and then wrap the straps around your waist. This will create a cleaner look as the material is quite fluid and tends to easily show unwanted frumpiness.
+ Wear seamless undergarments. See tip above!
+ The Henkaa dress is perfect for your bridal party. Bridesmaid could create their individual style all the while maintaining a uniform look- which is quite picture perfect for your special day!

There are multitude more ways to wear it and you can check out the tutorials on the Henkaa site. I’m wearing the Sakura Burgundy Wine Midi Convertible Dress.
