Lookbook: Isa Arfen F/W2014

If Comme Des Garçons and Miu Miu were to miraculously bear a child, she would be Isa Arfen, the emerging womenswear brand designed by Sarafina Sama. (Wonder where the interesting name came from? Play Scramble using the letters in the designer’s name). Both wearable and aesthetically-pleasing, Sama’s line has been turning heads in the fashion world since its establishment in 2011—and surely none of these heads have looked back since. After all, if Isa Arfen’s Fall 2014 RTW  collection proves anything, it’s that the brand is more than worthy of our attention. Some pieces are bejewelled, others are bold, and a few are a little basic; the common thread being that the entire collection is incredibly beautiful (and, of course, we want it all—especially that black embellished crop top!). Sama’s design background is made evident in her attention to detail and design: she is a graduate of the prestigious Central Saint Martin’s School and a former employee at Marni, Lanvin, and Chloé, to name a few. With but three collections under her fashion belt, one can only guess where Sarafina Sama will go with Isa Arfen. One thing’s for sure: you can count us in.
